S'yo Fang 方斯由 

S’yo Fang (NL/Taiwan) is a composer, arranger, and pianist working across the context of modern classical and contemporary jazz. S’yo is known to combine these two generes by his personal musical concepts which frequently based on seamless mixture  between written music and improvisation.

   
S'yo 's works has been collaborated, commissioned, or presented with(by) soloist, ensemble, dance  theater and institution such as: David Kweksilber, Alex Sipiagin, Metropole Orchestra, NSJO, Codarts Contemporary Big Band, CVA Large ensemble, Plugged Live Show, SBBN, Danza Mobile, Incubo, National Culture Art Fund Taiwan, Amsterdam
CinemAsia Festival, and Rotterdam Queer Art Evening;  As a pianist,  he works for own project S'yo Fang Group, Emilio Acoustic Band, Naftule as well as  performs new music. With his own group, S’yo Fang Group, they have been performed at the stages like: So What’s Next Jazz, International Madrid Jazz Festival, Jazzycolors Paris, Make it Jazz Festival...etc.

 Born in Taiwan, S'yo completed Bachelor degrees in the area of Classical Piano at National Taiwan Normal University, in the area of Jazz Piano at Royal Conservatory of Den Haag, and he received double Master degrees in both Composition & Jazz Piano at Rotterdam Conservatorium with the honor of cum laude; currently he lives and works between Taiwan and The Netherlands.


2020 - Nomination for PAD Prize_the best music for dance. 
2019  - Winner of Sonic Awards by ISJAC .

2018   - Opening Concert at Tilburg Make it Jazz Festival broadcasted by NTR.
2017  - Keep an Eye The Records Award Nomination, performed at Bimhuis, Amsterdam.
           - Producer of CinemAsia Festival Opening Music Act. 
       
    - S’yo Fang Octet at So What’s Next Jazz Festival Eindhoven, NL.
          
 - Collaborated with Grammy winner Vince Mendoza, and remarkable Metropole Orkest
2014  - Best Composer Nomination at Graz-Comp-2014
